The Soundtrack of Our Journey

While we wait for the official Journey soundtrack to emerge, the composer, Austin Wintory has several of the tracks and excerpts on his SoundCloud page.

I’ve been playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – it’s pretty great!  However, I start singing along and air-guitaring the Top Gear theme music every time someone summons a Faer Gorta skeleton beastie.  Watch, and decide whether or not I’m completely off my rocker.

Over on Reddit, someone posted this rather well done YouTube doubler – Vangelis’ Blade Runner Blues, plus RainyMood.  Go now – drink apple juice from a dirty tumbler, gazing out into the uncaring night, and pretend that it’s whisky you’re drowning your sorrows with.

A nameless warrior flees through a verdant forest; his blood drops tick, tick, tick, as they hit the succulent leaves, counting the seconds before his end.  Nothing falls without the forest’s knowledge, however, and the strange, white-clad spirits, with their silent ankle-bells, have one last journey for the lost soldier.

The music may not be to your liking, but the video is dreamy, fantastical, simply done, and reminds me a little of Princess Mononoke.  Recommended by a gent at work.
